Campaign Update: Brain Tumour Research on the National Agenda

It’s been a powerful and positive couple of weeks in Westminster for brain tumour awareness and action.

Our sister charity, Brain Tumour Research, continues to make vital progress in their campaign work . Health Minister Ashley Dalton MP – recently appointed and herself affected by cancer – has committed to including brain tumours in the upcoming National Cancer Plan. She pledged to remove barriers to funding, improve trial access, and work closely with charities to drive change.

This follows a heartfelt Commons debate led by Dame Siobhain McDonagh MP and Charlie Maynard MP, supported by a strong turnout at the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Brain Tumours. MPs including John McDonnell, Sarah Owen, and Scott Arthur joined campaigners and researchers to call for urgent investment.

Minister Dalton also met with bereaved mothers and campaigners Laura Kurtul and Louise Fox, who shared their powerful stories of loss and hope. Their courage and commitment are helping to shape future policy and funding priorities.

We’re seeing real momentum – and with Government support growing, we’re one step closer to the breakthroughs patients so urgently need.
