A few words from Enda…
Do you want to join us in making a difference? We raising money in aid of Brain Tumour Research Campaign and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
My late wife Claire Mc Cabe (nee O’ Connell) always intended we would get fitter and she would run the half marathon in Exeter again (near her home town of Crediton in Devon). Unfortunately a diagnosis of a brain tumour GBM-wildfire type on 6th January 2018, with a life expectancy of one year put us on another path. Claire was an inspiration throughout and fought hard without a hint of self pity or defeat. She was inspirational, and remains so for me. My words do not do her justice. Her earthly journey came to an end on the 9th of April. Since she was unable to carry out her wish to run in Exeter again my friends and I will do it in her memory. These wonderful people are Claire’s sister Katy O Connell, our friends Liam Bradley, Mark Mc Entee, Paul Mc Phillips, Corneila Connolly, Emily Cope – all seasoned runners it must be said! And the first timers are Barry Moore, Pat Mc Elvaney and myself (Enda Mc Cabe). We are blessed with a great team of friends and family to cheer us on also.
If all goes well I will also run/jog/limp the London Landmarks Half marathon for Brain Tumour Research UK at Easter as I believe their work will bear fruit and we were blessed with the extra time that the Irish and English medics gained us.
Please be aware that this page is collecting money in sterling as the charity is UK based.
Thanks in advance,
The Monaghan and Devon crew
