George Pickard Programme: Brighton Marathon 2026
The George Pickard Programme for Precision Brain Surgery was created in memory of George Pickard, whose life was tragically cut short by a brain tumour. His family established the programme to turn loss into purpose by funding vital brain tumour research and better patient treatment.
On April 12th, Ollie, George’s son, along with George’s brother Ed and their team, took on the Brighton Marathon event with a shared goal: to make a positive difference. This challenge is about more than the distance, it’s about raising vital funds, building awareness, and supporting progress.
By committing to running Brighton Marathon (some running the full marathon and others the 10K), the team is dedicating their time, energy, and determination to a cause. They’re inviting friends, family, colleagues, and supporters to join them by sponsoring their run. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps turn effort into impact and supports important work that makes a real difference!
Your support will not only motivate the team on the day, but also help ensure that the progress they’re running for continues well beyond the finish line.

What an incredible day it was! This year’s 2026 Brighton Marathon weekend brought such an inspiring turnout, with family and friends coming together to support the newly launched BTRC x George Pickard Programme.
