We are extremely proud and excited to announce that BTRC’s founder, Wendy Fulcher, was awarded “Personality of the Year” at the prestigious Meeting & Incentive Travel annual industry awards dinner last Friday (3rd March).
For many years a leading figure in the meetings and incentive industry and former Global President of SITE (Society of Incentive Travel Excellence), Wendy has been and still is an entrepreneur of note with her own Destination Management Company, Spectra.
In conferring on her the Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry “Personality of the Year”, awarded to “those who have contributed above and beyond personal or business gain”, her fellow industry professionals recognized Wendy’s tireless campaigning on behalf of BTRC, which she founded in 2004 in memory of her husband John. They acknowledged the achievement of raising over £2 million for brain tumour research at Imperial College London, which in 2015, together with BTRC’s sister charity, Brain Tumour Research (which Wendy chairs), culminated in the creation of the Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence at Imperial College.
Wendy commented: “I am so proud that my professional industry colleagues have honoured me with this award in recognition of our achievements in raising awareness and much needed funds for brain tumour research. Thank you so much to all those who have supported me on this journey and to those who nominated me for the award”
