We’re delighted to announce that a grand total of over £50,000 was raised at the 15th BTRC Amber Ball last Friday 8th June!
A 5* evening
Almost 300 guests at the Amber Ball partied the night away in the sumptuous setting of Park Lane’s Dorchester Hotel Ballroom. The hotel lived up to its 5* reputation, serving up a free-flowing champagne reception (with musical accompaniment of harpist Les Magee) and truly delicious food. We were delighted to welcome as guest speaker chef John Lawson who, very movingly, shared the story of how he successfully beat his brain tumour and went on to create his new restaurant Food by John Lawson. Our auctioneer Nick Bonham’s gavel was put to use, disposing of some very desirable lots, including an exclusive stay in the intriguingly named Temple of Diana!
Over 100 prizes donated
Among over 100 prizes donated by our wonderful supporters were holidays in Bulgaria, Cyprus and France, stays at world renowned luxury hotels such as Raffles in Singapore and Gleneagles in Scotland, plus many of London’s top hotels, dinners at top restaurants and private members’ clubs, cases of wine and champagne….the list goes on! After all the speeches and fundraising activities, party band Fake Tan got the dance floor rocking with their brand of non-stop high energy music.
A team of volunteers from BTRC founder Wendy Fulcher’s company, Spectra, managed the event and ran the various fund raising activities on the night, with the invaluable help of a team of 4 from Barclays Bank‘s Fulham Broadway branch and party photographer Pellier Noir got the guests posing for posterity!
